A walk around Ouchy and its history

Ouchy is worth a visit, a tourist attraction not to be missed.
The more so because of its rich history.

What would be Lausanne without Ouchy; with its quays and its parks, the charming beauty of its lake and the paddle-wheel steamers, the splendid view of the Savoy Alps?

P1000403 OuchyThe famous neo-gothic "Château d'Ouchy" with its emblematic silhouette and its 12th century tower. There is now a luxury hotel within its walls., and a terrace facing the lake.

From the rose garden in the Place du Général Guisan one can see the flower beds and numerous trees like majestic conifers, impressive cedars and giant sequoias.

A tour of the recently renovated Olympic Museum situated in the middle of a lovely garden with a large white fountain will be an unforgettable experience.

On the eastern side of Ouchy one can also take a walk in the beautiful Parc du Denantou with its sculptures of various animals scattered around multicoloured bushes of azalea, rhododendrons, and admire the splendour of the tall trees such as huge cedars.
