The domaine of “Le Desert”

The father of Benjamin Constant (1726 – 1812) began this estate and the Park is one of the few in Lausanne started before the French Revolution.

Inspired by the Dutch-French style, the "Désert" is one of numerous properties that belonged to Lausanne's aristocratic families in the 18th and 19th centuries.

With it's canal, unique in Switzerland, its vegetable garden and various constructions which have been conserved, it remains today an interesting place of grand style.

Length about 1 hour ; mainly for class years 5 and 6 (ages 9 – 11).

Throughout the year, except Sundays and Public Holidays (according to availability of a guide).
